Non Faculty Coach Volunteer/Fine Arts Coach

Position Title: Volunteer Assistant Coach/Fine Arts
Reports to: Head Coach of respective sport etc.
Summary:
The Assistant Coach will work under the direction of the Head Coach to develop and mentor student-athletes, emphasizing teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth. This role involves supporting all aspects of the program, including practices, games, and player development, while upholding the values and policies of the school and athletic department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Head Coach to implement the philosophy, skills, and techniques outlined for the program.
- Support the enforcement of all school system, state, and conference regulations.
- Assist with maintaining team discipline, resolving grievances, and promoting morale and cooperation within the program.
- Attend all practices, games, and required departmental meetings.
- Provide supervision and guidance for student-athletes during practices, contests, and team travel.
- Help prepare and maintain practice and game facilities, ensuring adherence to schedules and safety protocols.
- Assist in the management, inventory, and safeguarding of team equipment, including issuing and collecting gear.
- Reinforce training rules, player expectations, and sport-specific regulations.
- Support the Head Coach in monitoring the academic progress and conduct of student-athletes.
- Participate in game preparation, scouting, and conditioning programs as directed by the Head Coach.
- Supervise and direct team managers, statisticians, and volunteers as assigned.
- Address student-athlete needs during practices and contests, ensuring proper care and adherence to policies.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of off-season and in-season conditioning and skill development sessions.
- Promote respect for teammates, equipment, and school property.
- Communicate with players, parents, and staff as directed by the Head Coach, particularly in disciplinary matters.
- Maintain a professional demeanor consistent with the school’s expectations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.

- Demonstrated knowledge of the sport’s rules, fundamentals, and coaching techniques.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to supervise, organize, and inspire student-athletes in a positive and professional manner.
- Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.
- Compliance with all school system requirements, including background checks and coaching certifications.
- Prior coaching or playing experience (preferred).
