Title: EC PREK TEACHER ASSISTANT
Reports to: EC Director
Terms of Employment: 10 Months
Salary: Pay Grade AIDE8
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Understand and follow the established laws, rules and regulations of Davidson County Schools EC
- Maintain confidentiality of all student
- Interact with students in an age-appropriate manner that demonstrates an appropriate understanding of each student's individual needs, abilities, and
- Carryout all physical care routines for students as indicated on their Health Plans and/or Individual Education Plans (IEPs), including, but not limited to, personal hygiene and administration of medication, feeding needs, etc.
- Collect and record student
- Be physically capable of meeting multiple demands of the position such as student transfer, lifting,
- Provide individualized and group instruction based on teacher
- Create and maintain classroom materials.
- Demonstrate a basic level of computer proficiency needed to assist classroom teacher and students.
- Use various assistive technology, equipment, and augmentative communication devices to assist students with school related activities (as needed}.
- Assist students with daily living skills (i.e., toileting, feeding, diaper change, etc).
- Provide close student supervision in all school
- Maintain student safety in all school settings and
- Maintaining general housekeeping in
- Assist in the organization and implementation of all classroom
- Perform routine duties as required by teacher and/or administrator(s).
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the principal or
- Regular attendance Report to work on time • Adhere to state, county, school laws, rules and regulations • Adhere to Code of Ethics for NC Educators
- Follow appropriate communication channels with students, parents, school and
- Required to obtain a CDL and Bus License.
- Required to serve a substitute bus driver and/or regular bus route driver.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs other related work as required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to perform sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Some positions assigned to this class may require light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
