Job Overview

Davies Claims North America is looking for an experienced Multi-Line TPA Field Adjuster to investigate and evaluate losses while developing a plan of action to bring claims to a proper resolution in a timely manner, as well as meeting the guidelines and needs of the client. You will complete field assignments in accordance with company standard performance timeframes and as specified by any client benchmarks.

To be successful in this role, you must possess superior time management skills with the capability of working with and meeting deadlines, demonstrate high level attention to detail and problem-solving skills, and be proactive and independent while taking initiative with consistent follow through. You must have at least 3 to 5 years of adjusting experience, have a valid driver’s license, and possess and maintain a North Carolina Adjuster’s License. Additionally, you will need to exhibit the exceptional capability to multi-task and prioritize with excellent organization and documentation skills and utilize discretion with sensitive and confidential information.

This role is a full-time, home- and field-based position that will require travel at times in the Charlotte, NC area. You must reside locally to this area to be considered for the role.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Local travel will be required for claim or scene investigations as necessary
  • Carry a technical case load of claim assignments
  • Complete field assignments in accordance with company standard performance timeframes and as specified by any client benchmarks
  • Manage time and assignment caseloads with the objective of providing a quality work product as well as meeting invoicing goals, as outlined in the adjuster's Performance Evaluation and Goals
  • Investigate claims to determine liability and potential exposure
  • Take recorded statements for all type of claims focusing on securing factual information necessary to effectively adjust the claim being investigated
  • Present thorough and accurate reports to clients and excess carriers on claims investigations / situations
  • Prepare written estimates for repairs utilizing computer based estimating software including Xactimate or any other software as delegated by the Branch Manager
  • Draft Reservation of Rights letters and / or Coverage Denials as necessary
  • Make recommendation of payment based upon facts as determined during the investigation of the claim assignment
  • Nurture and maintain good relations with all clients
  • Maintain necessary licensing in good standing and obtain any continuing education certification as required by the licensing state(s)

Experience and Qualifications

Required

  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • 3-5 years of Property and Casualty adjusting experience (Multi-Line)
  • Possess North Carolina Adjuster License and maintain CEU credits
  • Must reside in the Charlotte, NC area
  • Effectively manage a calendar and scheduling of various duties, perform routine diary on a case load of assignments, work independently and demonstrate the ability to make independent judgments and decisions
  • Understand liability and property policy language and be able to make coverage recommendations
  • Capability to use a computer and willingness to learn new software programs and claim handling techniques for various types of claims
  • Possess strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work independently and deal effectively with multiple tasks while meeting deadlines, which may include standard performance timeframes and client specific benchmarks
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and transmit information to clients utilizing proper spelling and grammar to ensure all written communication is presented in a professional manner
  • Proven customer service ability to meet and deal with people effectively, including claim settlement negotiations with both public and professional individuals
  • Willingness to occasionally work unusual hours to include those times when the assignment volume may increase to ensure timely and effective claim handling
  • Express interest to improve one's knowledge by meeting educational goals

    This is a home-based, full time, salaried, exempt position that operates from a professional office-based and field-based environment routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, photocopiers, and scanners and requires periods of sitting at a desk while working on a computer. While performing the duties of this job, the individual will be required to regularly hear and talk. This role requires the ability to sit at a desk, reach outward, use a phone, have use of fingers to operate office equipment such as a keyboard, mouse, phone, printer, copier, and to reach above the head, bend, or stand as necessary. This role also requires the physical ability to travel for day-to-day field work, sit in a vehicle and drive long distances, load and unload equipment, as well as bend, walk, and climb for consecutive hours while inspecting damaged property. Additionally, the individual must be able to carry and climb a ladder, as well as conduct roof inspections.
