We're on the lookout for a Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster to join our growing team in Nashville, TN. As a Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster, you will be responsible for investigating and evaluating Workers’ Compensation files while developing a plan of action to bring claims to a proper resolution in a timely manner. You should have 3-5 years of Workers’ Compensation claims handling experience, including Lost Time/Indemnity, with a proven ability to communicate effectively. Additionally, you should demonstrate a superb ability to prepare and present reports with recommendations while being detail oriented, meeting time-sensitive deadlines, and possessing a willingness to be flexible in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
We're on the lookout for a Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster to join our growing team in Nashville, TN. As a Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster, you will be responsible for investigating and evaluating Workers’ Compensation files while developing a plan of action to bring claims to a proper resolution in a timely manner. You should have 3-5 years of Workers’ Compensation claims handling experience, including Lost Time/Indemnity, with a proven ability to communicate effectively. Additionally, you should demonstrate a superb ability to prepare and present reports with recommendations while being detail oriented, meeting time-sensitive deadlines, and possessing a willingness to be flexible in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities and duties of this position include:
- Determine extent of insurance coverage and liability on each filed claim
- Investigate claims, including interviewing claimants, clients, and witnesses
- Obtain necessary records, including but not limited to, hospital records, police reports, physician records, etc.
- Complete CMS/Section 111 reporting
- Utilize appropriate preferred vendors
- Present thorough and accurate reports to clients on claims investigations/situations
- Negotiate settlements for resolution with claimants and their attorneys
- Maintain control of costs per account requirements
- Effectively address and maintain incoming Docuclass documents in a consistent and timely manner as well as use standard or customized software applications appropriate to assigned tasks
- Attend meetings, conferences, workshops, or training sessions; and review written material to maintain current knowledge on principles, practices, and new developments in assigned work areas
- Maintain and meet state specific licensing requirement
- Respond to client questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner
- Other duties as assigned
Your Expertise, Skills, And Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in business or another related field or equivalent work experience
- Thorough knowledge of current principles and practices associated with claims investigations, adjustment, and related practices
- Extensive knowledge of medical and legal terminology with a thorough understanding of legal principles/litigation management
- Capable of understanding multi-state laws and regulations to assist other offices, as necessary
- Other Expertise, Skills, and Abilities:
- 3-5 years of experience handling Workers’ Compensation claims
- Prior experience conducting investigations in multi-party situations
- Superior written and verbal communication skills with diverse audiences
- Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Superb attention to detail to ensure accuracy while meeting time-sensitive deadlines
- Strong ability to prepare and present accurate, reliable, and factual reports with recommendations to appropriate parties
- Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced environment as well as understand and follow oral and/or written policies, procedures, and instructions
- Discretion when handling confidential information
- Exhibit a comfort level working with key people at all levels within an organization
