Patient Access Representative

Job Description
- Greets all patients and guests in initiating check in process.
- Obtains and verified accurate patient identification & demographic data to confirm or update the patient’s record while maintaining confidentiality for information.
- Is responsible for completing eligibility of insurances presented and possibly offering some financial counselling as well as conducting point of service collections.
- Is responsible for completing registration for all admission processes while providing customer service in person and via phone.
- May be switchboard during all working hours
- Day shift, but hours will vary.
- ER Access cross training is mandatory after initial training and will be expected to fill in ER shifts as needed.
Qualifications
- HS diploma or GED required
- Excellent customer and clerical experience needed.
- Candidate must be able to multi-task while being detail oriented and have computer skills with at least 40 wpm.
- Must be team orientated but also able to work independently.
- Job can require long periods of standing and walking as well as repetitive standing and sitting.
Preferred qualifications:
- Medical and insurance experience
- Medical terminology
- Fluently bi-lingual
