QUALIFICATIONS
Required :
Any combination equivalent to : high school diploma, G.E.D. Certificate or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a G.E.D. as required by Kentucky law.Must be at least 21 years of ageHas successfully completed all training required by state law and local board policy.Knowledge Of :
Basic computer skills including use of mouse and keyboard to navigate computer, e-mail, and websitesSafe practices concerning school bus transportationBasic record-keeping techniquesApplicable sections of the KY Administrative Regulations and other applicable lawsHealth and Safety regulationsJOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary :
Assist in providing safe transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's curriculum and extracurricular program.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities :
Assists the bus driver in maintaining good student conduct on the bus.Assist with student loading, unloading, and seating arrangements as required.Assures that students get on and off the bus in an orderly fashion.Assist in meeting a wide array of student needsProvides written records of violations of the student code to the Director of Transportation.Collects and turns over to the school secretary those personal items left on the bus by students.Maintain proper records and documentationMaintain knowledge of Emergency Evacuation ProceduresSafely lift students according to established guidelinesEstablish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with othersCommunicate effectively both orally and in writingUnderstand and follow oral and written directionsObserve health and safety regulationsMaintain confidentiality of all studentsDemonstrates loyalty and dedication to the purposes and goals of the Daviess County Public SchoolsPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
