Join the Recovery Support Program at Davis Behavioral Health, dedicated to facilitating a transformative journey for Davis County residents struggling with substance use issues. As a Recovery Support Specialist (RSS), you will play a vital role in guiding clients through all levels of care offered at DBH, including case management, personal recovery coaching, and peer support. Your work will focus on engaging with clients in an outpatient capacity, particularly those connected to our Medication Assisted Therapy clinic. Through both group and individual sessions, you will link clients to essential community resources, helping them build a sustainable lifestyle of recovery.
Flexibility is key, as this position requires availability for 1-2 evenings per week, allowing you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those seeking support in their recovery journey.

- DBH defines someone being in recovery as an individual who has not experienced a life-interfering instance as a result of their mental illness or substance use condition during a specified period of time.
- Stable recovery is when an individual has been in recovery for 5 years.
- Sustained recovery is when an individual has been in recovery for 2-5 years.
- Situations such as being required to take extended absences from work or school
- hospitalization or residential placement
- inability to perform daily activities
- negative impacts on physical wellbeing and important relationship
- are all examples of life-interfering instances.
- For individuals working as a family peer support specialist (FPSS)
- the symptoms may be in your family member
- and not the peer support specialist.
- Preference is for an individual who is in stable recovery (5 years) with the minimum qualification being sustained recovery (2-5 years). Sustained recovery is a minimum job qualification for all peer support specialists at DBH. Employment may be terminated if an individual is not in sustained recovery.

DBH Criminal Background Check & Drug Screening Disclaimer
Davis Behavioral Health is a drug-free workplace and requires all employees to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening. DBH will not hire individuals currently using illegal drugs or abusing alcohol; therefore, making employment at DBH conditional upon successfully passing pre-employment drug screening by providing a valid sample. Candidates who are offered employment are required to report for a drug screen at an Intermountain WorkMed location within 24 hours of being requested to do so by the DBH Human Resources Department.
Davis Behavioral Health works with Federal grants and must comply with the Federal drug laws, including no use of medical marijuana.
Further, all employees at DBH must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check as part of DBH's licensing agreement with the State of Utah. Failure to pass either screening will result in the termination of any job offer submitted and/or employment for any individual who has started employment while the criminal background screening is in process. Pending and/or open charges will likely impact a candidate's ability to pass the pre-employment criminal background screening.
