General Purpose
The Intensive Services (AOT/ FAST/ Payee) Case Manager Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and guiding a treatment team who provides intensive, community-based services to individuals with severe mental illness. This role ensures the effective delivery of services, promotes recovery-focused practices, and ensures team members are well-supported, trained, and equipped to meet the needs of clients. The supervisor will also coordinate with other professionals and agencies to ensure comprehensive care and improve service delivery outcomes.
Essential Job Functions
The Intensive Services (AOT/ FAST/ Payee) Case Manager Supervisor is responsible for the following assignments and operations:
- Oversee the daily operations of the program.

Lead and supervise a multidisciplinary team of staff that may include:
- Case managers
- Nurses
- Peer Support Specialists
- Therapist
- Ensure adequate staffing levels, including hiring, training, and scheduling, as well as addressing staffing shortages or concerns.
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance evaluations, and training to promote continuous staff improvement and compliance.
- Provide training in crisis management, de-escalation techniques and best practices, ensuring that staff are equipped to handle emergency situations effectively while maintaining a safe environment.
- Ensure clients receive timely and appropriate care that meets their needs through comprehensive assessments and ongoing support.
- Oversee the timely and accurate completion of documentation including risk assessments, progress notes, incident reports and other required records.
- Promote a client-centered approach that encourages family involvement, ensuring that clients and their families are informed, supported and involved in the treatment process.
- Conduct regular audits of client records to ensure services are in alignment with regulatory requirements and agency guidelines.
- Ensure safety protocols and emergency procedures are followed, adjusting protocols as needed to ensure the physical and emotional well-being of clients and staff.
- Collaborate and build effective working relationships with other DBH programs and community partners to coordinate care and ensure client needs are being met.
- Work with the Program Director to regularly evaluate program outcomes, assess client feedback and implement necessary changes or improvements to services and processes.
- Responsible for performing the essential job functions of those in the program when other options are not available.
- Other duties as assigned and required.
Responsibilities directly related to this position also include:
- Monitor and ensure FAST / AOT clients, as well as clients on civil commitment, are actively engaged in and receiving the appropriate services.
- Ensure outreach and engagement processes are followed and documented in the electronic health record (Credible).
- Triage and guide community outreach efforts for committed and FAST/AOT clients.
- Understand and ensure adherence to the documentation requirements for FAST/ AOT/ payee services and provide ongoing coaching as needed for team members.
- Communicate and coordinate clients' needs with the outpatient case management supervisor, medical team and other supervisors, as needed.
- Oversee the daily operations of the payee program, including ensuring the program operates in compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Monitors payee caseloads and capacity, including assessing the continued medical necessity for services. Monitor team productivity standards and documentation requirements.
- Attend monthly adult mental health coordination meetings.
- Other duties as assigned and required.
Compensation
The Intensive Services (AOT/ FAST/ Payee) Case Manager Supervisor is a full-time, exempt position.
Base Rate
The base rate for licensed Social Service Workers is calculated with a starting annual rate of $53,040.00 plus credit for years of full-licensure experience as defined below:
- $53,040.00 ($25.50 per hour)
- 1% per year for each year of SSW licensure
- $3,000 Spanish-language incentive annual stipend (paid bi-weekly) available. Must pass a Spanish assessment.
For current DBH employees with SSW licensure, the base wages will not be adjusted as they are already in line with this compensation structure.
If the position is filled by a clinician, the individual will be compensated based on the approved base rate structure for licensed clinicians ($75,500.00 per year 1% for each year of full clinical licensure).
Supervisory Stipend
In addition to base wages, the Intensive Services (AOT/ FAST/ Payee) Case Manager Supervisor will receive a $200.0per bi-weekly pay period supervisory stipend. If the successful candidate leaves a supervisory role, the stipend will be discontinued.
Required Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Education
- Bachelor's degree in social work or other social science field.
- Position may be filled by an individual with an elevated academic degree (i.e. Master of Social Work)
Licenses and/or Certifications
- Active licensure as a Social Service Worker (SSW) in the State of Utah, in good standing.
- If occupied by an individual with a graduate degree, the individual must have relevant clinical licensure in the State of Utah (LCSW, CMHC, MFT), in good standing.
Experience
Required
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a behavioral health setting.
Preferred
- Previous supervision experience.
- Professional experience working with individuals with severe mental illness.
- Professional experience working in a community-based program.

Preferred
- Spanish-language fluency.
The selected candidate must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screening. DBH will not hire individuals currently using illegal drugs or abusing alcohol; therefore, making employment at DBH conditional upon successfully passing pre-employment drug screening by providing a valid sample. Candidates who are offered employment are required to report for a drug screen at an Intermountain WorkMed location within 24 hours of being requested to do so by the DBH Human Resources Department.
Davis Behavioral Health works with Federal grants and must comply with the Federal drug laws, including no use of medical marijuana.
Physical Demands
The employee must be able to drive and must have a valid driver's license with clean driving record to be covered by DBH insurance. The employee is required to stand, walk, reach, carry, and kneel. The employee must be able to walk on uneven surfaces and climb stairs. The employee must occasionally move or lift 25-50 pounds. The employee must be able to sit at computer workstations for up to three hours a day. The employee must be able to stand to speak in public.
Work Environment and Schedule
The usual work environment may include indoor and outdoor settings, various employment settings, other programs of DBH, and meetings with other agencies located in the community. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment, managing clients in crisis and providing supervision to staff.
This is a full-time position and is normally assigned to weekdays. This program may include oversight and guidance of weekend operations in the community, when necessary. DBH reserves the right to require overtime, weekend work, and/or assignment to evening or night shifts, depending upon operational need. Some in and out of state travel may be required.
