Job Description
Davis Behavioral Health is seeking a part-time, board-certified Psychiatrist (MD/DO), to join its adult medical team.
Program Description
At DBH, providers work hard to ensure that our clients have the right treatment plan to help them on their journey toward better mental health. For some clients, that treatment may include the use of prescription medications to help manage the symptoms associated with mental health conditions. The DBH medical team coordinates and provides the medication management services help those clients that require medication as part of their treatment plan.
Job Assignments
The psychiatrist will be responsible to perform the following duties.
Essential Functions

Performs medical/psychiatric assessments.

Performs psychiatric evaluations.

Provides consultations with clients.

Responsible for Medication Management.

Responsible for providing medications according to approved formulary.
Additional Responsibilities

Responsible for meeting quality expectations of accuracy, completeness, and is responsive to feedback.

Meets timeliness expectations of completing work as scheduled, demonstrating self-paced performance, and adjusting priorities as needed.

Classification
This position is classified as part-time, non-exempt and the successful candidate will work less than 30 hours per week.
Compensation
This position is compensated on a per service basis with the following approved rates:

Evaluation: $156 per evaluation
-
Medication Management: $45.56 per 30 minutes
-
TMS Re-Mapping: $93.12 per event
Schedule
The part-time schedule associated with this position will require the successful candidate to be in the office. Schedule flexibility and options will be discussed during the interview process.
Location
This position will be housed at the DBH Main Street Clinic located at 934 South Main, Layton, Utah 84041.
Required Experience
The successful candidate must be licensed as an MD or DO in the State of Utah and be board certified as a psychiatrist.
Must have the ability to perform under crisis situations; administer, score, interpret and evaluate various psychological data and develop treatment recommendations; establish professional leadership and cooperative relationships with other DBH staff; communicate verbally and in writing; develop and maintain effective working relationships with executives, professionals, administrators, and the public.
Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of psychological assessment, including testing, diagnostic evaluation, psychotherapy and behavioral therapy; diagnostic classifications and mental health concepts and fundamentals; various psychological tests and evaluation instruments; normal and abnormal psychology (mental illness and diseases) including their symptoms, treatment and social implications; evaluation and various forms of psychotherapy; client counseling processes, techniques, and methods; have strong working knowledge of current best practices regarding psychological assessment and tests/protocols with demonstrated validity and reliability. The range of tests, questionnaires, and interviews is extensive, and will include cognitive, personality, functional behavior, continuous performance, and other assessments as needed.
Strong preference will also be given to candidates who are bilingual English/Spanish.
Experience as a crisis worker is a plus. This position requires using psychological methods and principles to observe, interpret, and evaluate data gathered through interviews, collateral consults, and assessment methods. Contacts, utilizes, develops and coordinates with community agencies and resources to support client needs. Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills required. Flexibility and knowledge of DBH and community resources preferred.
DBH utilizes an electronic medical health records system, so computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office products is required. Required clinical documentation must be completed within established timeframes: Preference for concurrent documentation. End of work day is accectable if daily appointments do not allow for concurrent documentation. Documentation should be completed no later than 24 hours after an appointment is held in the worst case scenario.
The selected candidate must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screening. DBH will not hire individuals currently using illegal drugs or abusing alcohol; therefore, making employment at DBH conditional upon successfully passing pre-employment drug screening by providing a valid sample. Candidates who are offered employment are required to report for a drug screen at an Intermountain WorkMed location within 24 hours of being requested to do so by the DBH Human Resources Department.
