Davis County Valley View Golf is Currently hiring for Assistant Golf Course Superintendent l in Layton Utah. This position performs supervisory and skilled work in maintaining golf course facilities including turf, grounds and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school graduation (or equivalent).
- Possession of a valid driver license; new employees with an out-of-state license must obtain a valid Utah Driver License within sixty (60) days of hire date.
- Three years of full-time experience in golf course maintenance including turf, grounds, equipment, and repairing and installing irrigation systems; an acceptable combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preference for supervisory/lead experience and/or post high school coursework in turf
management, plant science, horticulture, agronomy or botany.
Preference for non-commercial Pesticide Applicator Certificate.
Day to Day Duties
- May act in the absence of the Golf Course Superintendent. Works rotating weekends and holidays on a regular basis.
- Assists with supervision of seasonal employees in performing turf and grounds maintenance, and maintenance and repairs on golf course equipment. Assigns and monitors work to ensure completion.
- Performs skilled work in maintaining golf course irrigation system (including pipes, boxes, water lines, valves, drains and sprinklers); installs fountains, culinary waterlines; threads, cuts, and fabricates pipes; designs and installs automatic hydraulic sprinkling systems. Cuts, aerates and maintains the fairways, tees and greens; ensures proper and adequate watering golf course; fertilizes golf course; applies, fungicides, insecticides and herbicides. Applies seeds and sods; prunes trees and shrubs; maintains water hazards and sand traps.
- Maintains and repairs water pumps, spray equipment, water equipment, and other equipment used on the golf course.
- Assists with maintaining golf course buildings and grounds including fences, clubhouse, maintenance buildings, restrooms, parking lots, cart paths, signs, benches, tools, etc. May supervise seasonal employees in maintaining grounds, watering and fertilizing grounds, spraying chemicals, cleaning facilities, operating grounds, and maintaining equipment.
- Performs skilled mechanical work in the repair, adjustment, and maintenance (including tune-ups and preventive maintenance) of golf course vehicles, small gasoline and diesel engines and light motor and non-motor machinery and equipment (including mowers, chain saws, tillers, snow blowers, edgers and other similar equipment and tools).
