Survey Crew Chief
Davis & Floyd is looking for an experienced Survey Crew Chief to lead a survey crew in South Carolina. This position will report to our Charleston, SC office. We are looking for a leader that has the ability to work in a strong team environment for a family-owned and oriented company that prides itself on integrity and quality.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following tasks:
- Perform land surveys of moderate complexity including construction stakeout
- Research plats, deeds, physical evidence, and other records to obtain data needed for boundary and ALTA surveys
- Determine methods and procedures for establishing or reestablishing survey control
- Keep accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe and certify work performed
- Coordinate findings with engineering personnel, clients and others concerned with the project
- Supervise survey crew
- Interact with property owners, clients, peers and supervisor
- Perform other assigned duties as deemed necessary by supervisor
Qualifications:
- High School graduate and at least 5 years applicable job experience as a Crew Chief
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required
- Must have thorough knowledge of data collectors and field equipment, and be capable of operating a Robotic Total Station and Global Positioning System (GPS)
- Computer literacy and good communication skills required
