The Big Task
You will diagnose, repair, and install generator systems and lead customers to informed and confident buying decisions. As a Generator Technician, your responsibilities will include:
- Perform scheduled maintenance on various types of generator systems, including diesel and natural gas generators.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control system issues.
- Repair and replace faulty components, such as engines, alternators, voltage regulators, and control panels.
- Conduct load bank testing and other performance evaluations.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed.
- Perform new generator installations and replacements up to code
- Comply with safety protocols and industry regulations.
- Maintain communication with dispatch, your manager, parts, and installation teams.
- Keep your company truck clean, inside, and out.
- Keep your truck inventory up to date.
- Join the on-call rotation.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
- Have and maintain a clean driving record.
- Participate in training allowing you to grow and develop as a professional.
- Have or be willing to get the proper certifications. We can help you with this.
Qualifications & Skills needed to excel at Davis & Green:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical degree or certification in electrical or mechanical field preferred.
- Proven experience in generator maintenance and repair.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, control panels, and PLCs.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge with gas work is a plus, but not a requirement
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Safety-conscious and able to follow safety guidelines.
- Valid driver's license.
