Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of funeral services, including event planning and logistics.
- Provide bereavement support to families, offering guidance and empathy during difficult times.
- Prepare the deceased for viewing by performing necessary tasks such as sanitizing, embalming, and cosmetology.
- Conduct funerals in accordance with the wishes of the deceased's family while adhering to legal requirements.
- Manage sales of funeral services and merchandise, ensuring transparency and clarity for clients.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to each service provided.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a smooth operation of the funeral home.
- Assist with heavy lifting as required when handling caskets or transporting remains.
Experience
- Proven experience in funeral directing or a related field is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with grieving families.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology is beneficial for preparing the deceased respectfully.
- Familiarity with event planning processes to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Skills in cosmetology are a plus for preparing individuals for viewings.
