Classified job is announced to "in house" personnel. Applications must be submitted no later than Thursday, April 10, 2025. 8 hours per day/257 days per year/Salary Grade 5 $17.28 per hour (2023 - 2024 Support Salary Table) [Promotions result in a 5% minimum increase] GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the supervision of the Facility Manager, the general custodian cleans and maintains the school building and grounds, sets up equipment for special events, and assists school personnel with work requests. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: 1. Completion of D.S.D. Custodial Trainee Program required. 2. Successful in current position required. 3. Knowledge of hazardous communications MSDS requirements. 4. D.S.D. asbestos training required. 5. Computer skills preferred. 6. Ability to read and write and perform basic mathematical functions. 7. Basic understanding of the school equipment and systems (heating and cooling and electrical systems: alarm panels; intercom and bell systems; mechanical equipment, etc.). 8. General maintenance and repair skills (plumbing, electrical, etc.). 9. Ability to interact effectively with children and staff. 10. Three months experience related to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
