Job Description :
The Teen Center Site Coordinator will provide intervention services to underserved high school aged students, their families, and their schools. They provide individual tracking and mentoring, acting as an advocate and mentor, for students referred to the Local Case Management team for behavior, identified trauma history, attendance, and academic obstacles. Serves as a direct liaison between the school team and families in bridging resources to promote student success. The Teen Center Site Coordinator will use the Teen Center to provide the basic resources and immediate needs of students. The Teen Center Site Coordinator will track the total number of students and families served each semester / year in the Teen Center. In collaboration with a McKinney-Vento Success Coach they will also track student data on behavior, attendance, academic progress, and impact of wrap around services for the student and family. Students will be self-identified through a survey and may be referred to the Teen Center Site Coordinator by teachers, counselors, and administrators, or on the McKinney-Vento list. The Teen Center Site Coordinator will be on the LCM team and collaborate with administration and counselors on how to best serve students.
Educational Requirements :
1. Bachelor's degree in social work, Psychology, or related field is required.
Knowledge and Ability :
1. Knowledge of human behavior and the development process and its various stages.
2. Working knowledge of current community resources.
3. Understanding and sensitivity toward unique populations including the economically disadvantaged, single-parent families, non-traditional families, cultural and linguistic diversity, and awareness of their individual needs.
4. Ability to recommend appropriate intervention and emergency assistance to families in crisis.
5. Excellent communication skills.
6. Ability to facilitate and teach workshops.
7. Knowledge of Child Abuse Reporting procedures.
8. Strong organizational skills.
9. Ability to use small office equipment and computers.
