What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Art Camp Instructor position at Davis Studio?
Are you an energetic and motivated individual eager to join Davis Studio's team of Art Camp Instructors? We provide week-long summer camp programming for students from grades 1 – 9, with a focus on art and creativity through different themes. We are seeking someone who is available to instruct 3 to 5 weeks of summer camps. Our ideal candidate is organized, has strong communication and classroom management skills, along with a commitment to providing campers with an excellent experience.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead effective, motivating art lessons and activities that spark students’ imagination and get them thinking about things in new ways.
- Model the behaviors you want to see in your students, including joy, creativity, courage, kindness, and respect.
- Always maintain active supervision of your students during camp hours.
- Give clear instructions to your camp assistant and assistant-in-training so they know how to best help the camp run smoothly.
- Communicate with the Youth Art Program Director regarding materials, studio space, and classroom management as needed.
- Communicate effectively with families via email, phone, or in person.
- Provide families with a slideshow at the end of the week featuring the students’ work and activities.
Requirements:
- CPR / First Aid Certification
- Experienced Art Teacher
- Drawing, Painting, Mixed Media Skills
Schedule:
Monday – Friday: 8 am – 2:45 pm OR 8:30 am – 3:15 pm
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
