What are the responsibilities and job description for the Academic Development - Math Substitute position at Davis Technical College?
This position would be for as-needed, that may shift to more regularly scheduled hours.
- Instructs students, evaluates student learning, and maintains student records.
- Incorporates real-world applications of math concepts relevant to various technical fields.
- Answers student questions and provide individual assistance as needed.
- Administers and proctor quizzes, tests, and other assessments as directed.
- Creates a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Must hold an associate’s degree in a related field
- Must have three (3) years combined relevant education and experience.
- Must have demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and instill industry-related concepts and skills, critical thinking skills, computer skills, and ability to foster a productive learning environment.
- Must be able to deliver instruction in a variety of methods and produce instructional outcomes.
- Must have proven ability to lead, including the ability to act as an advocate for the College in all partnerships.
- Must be capable of performing routine physical activities associated with the training program, including the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds, and demonstrate proper physical requirements associated with performing job functions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior teaching experience and teaching credentials.
