- Plan and deliver engaging general music lessons for grades K–4
- Introduce students to rhythm, melody, instruments, vocal techniques, and music appreciation
- Organize and direct performances and concerts throughout the year
- Foster creativity through movement, singing, and instrument play
- Align instruction with district-approved curriculum aligned with music standards
- Develop and teach age-appropriate STEM lessons incorporating science, technology, engineering, and math
- Facilitate hands-on experiments, design challenges, and collaborative projects
- Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and curiosity in students
- Integrate digital tools and platforms to enhance student learning
- Ensure alignment with relevant standards
- Assess student learning and provide timely feedback to students and parents
- Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to support cross-curricular integration
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance
- Must be qualified and certified to teach in the State of Michigan and possess the necessary educational background and certification for the position as determined by the district.
- Candidates with the following endorsements will be considered: Music (JX, JQ, OX), Elementary Education (ZG, or ZO and ZP), Technology (NP or NR) or provide evidence of educational technology knowledge and skills
- Willing and able to deliver effective classroom instruction.
- Have a strong desire to work with elementary school aged students and their parents.
- Be willing to participate in a variety of extra-curriculum and co-curricular activities including staff development and curriculum development.
- Be willing to work as part of a building team for the improvement of instruction.
