Full-Time / Part-Time 4-H Program Assistant

Position Type : Part-Time possibly leading to Full-Time.
Job Summary :
The Part-Time 4-H Program Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the 4-H program in Davison County. This position requires a motivated individual with strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to facilitate and enhance 4-H program activities, administration, and outreach.
Key Responsibilities :
Coordinate and oversee administrative tasks related to 4-H programs, events, and activities.
Address community needs and develop programs to provide for those.Maintain accurate records of participants, volunteers, and program outcomes.Assist in the preparation and dissemination of program materials, newsletters, and promotional content.Provide timely communication with County Commissioners.Communication & Outreach :Serve as a primary point of contact for 4-H inquiries, providing information and support to participants, volunteers, and stakeholders.
Collaborate with community partners, schools, and organizations to promote 4-H programs and recruit participants, including school enrichment programs such as Cloverbuds and after school activities.Facilitate communication between 4-H clubs, leaders, and members to ensure effective program delivery, including creating newsletters and other media sources.Event Coordination :Assist in planning, organizing, and executing 4-H events, workshops, and competitions.
Coordinate logistics, resources, and volunteers for successful event implementation.Develop and deliver educational programs in the programming priority areas of leadership skills, life skills, social skills, and workforce development.Evaluate event outcomes and provide feedback for continuous improvement.Training & Development :Support the training and development of 4-H volunteers, leaders, and members, providing leadership for volunteer management, including identification, orientation, training, recognition, and evaluation of both youth and adult volunteers.
Provide resources, tools, and guidance to enhance 4-H program delivery and engagement.Foster a positive and inclusive environment that aligns with the values and principles of the SDSU Extension 4-H Youth Development Program.Qualifications :
High School diploma or equivalent such as a GED.Previous experience in program administration, youth development, or related areas.Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Knowledge of 4-H principles, values, and programming.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed to events.SDSU Extension 4-H Youth Development Program Values :
