Job Description :
This individual will assist in the design and coordination of fire protection systems for various facilities. The candidate will design and create the finished representation for wet and dry sprinkler systems using drawing and drafting skills and tools. Drawings produced will be used as a guide by every other link in the chain of construction, both on-site and in the office. The trainee will have close coordination with the project manager and Lead Designer throughout the respective projects.
Responsibilities :
- Responsible for initial planning of a project including scheduling of time, creating material stock lists, analyzing changes, and solving problems.
- Learn how to design various dry and wet fire protection systems following required codes.
- Assist with field surveys of existing buildings and systems.
- Learn and use design software for 2-D & 3-D drawings.
- Assist with system calculations.
- Work with key customers and our design / build team to prepare conceptual drawings and estimates.
- Produce shop drawings and as-built drawings.
- Assist with system and equipment selection.
- Assemble system specifications and O&M Manuals.
- Communicate with field personnel to ensure information flow.
