Description
The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.
Essential Functions

- Prepare monthly journal entries and maintains the general ledger and perform balance sheet account reconciliations no less than monthly to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Review and provide analysis for monthly results with a focus on cost savings and increasing cash conversion cycle
- Participate with monthly and quarterly inventory counts, identify and implement inventory process improvements.
- Support the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis by running a group consolidation model.
- Maintain fixed asset ledger for the business.
- File monthly and quarterly sales tax for the business.
- Work with Accounts Payable Lead & Billing Specialist to ensure smooth flow of cash in the organization. Provide backup to those processes, providing coverage for illness, PTO and unusually high demand.
- Provide outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
- Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field, required.
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Experience with Sage, Global Shop and/or Macola a plus.

This position does not require travel.
Work Hours
- 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday. This is an on-site role.
- Departmental demands may necessitate additional work outside of the standard work hours, especially during the monthly close.
