We are seeking an EXPERIENCED Dog Groomer to join our team! Come work at a modern, chic and family oriented environment! Dawgs and Paws is a quickly growing high end grooming salon which opened in June of 2021. The salon is owned by two sister groomers who have made it a mission to create a unique salon experience different from those commercially seen. Winning neighborhood favorite and gaining 400 5 star google reviews in a short period of time, they are looking to continue to expand on their quality reputation by adding another talented groomer to the D&P team. We are on the search for groomers who truly have a passion for their craft and strive to produce quality grooms. 2 years of experience with a portfolio including photos/referances is a must!

Dawgs and Paws has also made it a point to provide all necessary equipment to ensure groomers are supported to perform and put out quality work at a reasonable pace, the salon has several k-9 driers, crate driers, several tables for prepping and grooming, three tubs and more!

Responsibilities:
- Groomer will be expected to perform start to finish Full Groom work on 6 dogs daily including:
- Prep work: including but not limited to bathing, nail filing and clipping, ear cleanings, brushing, dematting, deshedding, teeth brushing, gland expressions, blueberry facials, flea baths, and any other add on services listed on salon site as needed
- Groom: Provide a full service hair cut including clip comb, blade, scissoring work to safely achieve client desired look for any breed/size dog. Breed specific haircuts performed as needed.
- Effectively perform client briefings at check in to assess coat condition while explaining possible haircut options
- Groomer will be expected to take detailed notes on each groom to record style performed, length used, and or health/behavioral concerns.
- Groomer shall effectively and clearly communicate with pet parents on plan of action according to haircut style, change in style due to matting, and maintain communication throughout appointment as necessary to relay important information in regards to pet.
Qualifications:
- At least two years of prior grooming experience, photos of work would be requested and in salon working interview will be required.
- Ability to interact with animals in safe and calm, non-threatening manner
- Ability to identify and prevent signs in dogs of health- related problems that can be caused due to stress.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
- Prior grooming education and creative grooming experience is a plus.
- Employee shall be expected to provide own grooming tools including but not limited to clippers, blade sizes for all breed cuts, deshedding rakes/tools, dematting tools, sheers, guards, combs, brushes, finishing sprays, quick dry sprays, scissoring sprays, dematting sprays, dremmel, nail clippers.
