Job Description:
DAWN Center for Independent Living seeks an organized and self-motivated team member to assist our Early Intervention Unit with daily operations in a high-paced and energetic office serving families of children birth to age three. The Service Coordinator Associate provides support to the EI staff and assists with administrative tasks to ensure a seamless working environment. A successful candidate must be able to multitask, remain highly organized, and be flexible to unanticipated changes.
Essential Job Functions:
· Provide administrative support to Service Coordinators and Unit Coordinator with regard to case records and files including both electronic and paper records;
· Administrative tasks include, but not limited to, typing, filing, emailing, telephone calls and photocopying.
· Regular data entry into both state and in-house databases;
· Assist with coordination and scheduling of required meetings;
· Ensure all Unit has all needed supplies to maintain daily operations efficiently
· Assist with preparation of reports for specific programs;
· Participate directing incoming calls for the agency as part of the administrative ring group;
· Complete all required webinars and trainings;
· Interface with various internet research tools, and facilitate the operation of standard office machinery;
· Attend all internal agency staff meetings, trainings, and in-services as required;
· Participate in agency wide outreach efforts and special events;
· Performance of other non-essential assigned duties and tasks;
Qualifications:
· Must possess a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of documented professional work experience;
· Knowledge of and support for the Independent Living Philosophy;
· Ability to successfully relate to and communicate with people with disabilities, their families, other organizations, agencies, volunteers, and consumers;
· Experience utilizing the Microsoft office package 2010 and ability to effectively use various technology as part of daily work activities provided by agency;
· Strong knowledge of internet research tools, and operation of standard office machinery;
· Strong team player willing to take direction, initiate business activities and work with management staff and peers;
· Creative thinker using sound judgment in workload coordination and in technical matters;
· Ability to effectively organize work, establish priorities and complete assigned duties with minimal supervision;
· Possess strong and effective spoken and written communication skills and be able to express self with a professional demeanor and presentation;
· Ability to maintain compliance with NJEIS policy and procedures, and adherence to established deadlines and benchmarks;
· Ability to cope with moderate to high levels of stress;
· Working knowledge of developmental disabilities and/or knowledge of infant and early childhood development would be a benefit;
· Job contingent upon proof of a valid driver license and proof of auto insurance coverage limits of at least $100,000 / $300,000.
