Key Responsibilities as Director of Social Services:
Oversee the Social Services department and ensure residents receive the emotional, social, and psychological support they need.
Advocate for residents and families, helping them navigate admissions, discharges, and care planning.
Provide counseling and emotional support, ensuring residents’ social and mental well-being.
Work closely with nursing, therapy, and administration to coordinate care and meet residents’ needs.
Stay up to date with state and federal regulations regarding Social Work and Social Services in skilled nursing facilities.
Lead and mentor the Social Services team to provide the highest quality of care and support.
What We’re Looking For:
A bachelor’s degree in social work from a Council on Social Education accredited program or related degree with a minimum of 2 years in casework preferred.
Must have thorough knowledge of principles and practice of social work, community health, welfare and social agencies, and the physical and psychological aspects of aging.
Must be able to effectively communicate with older adults in a manner that conveys warmth and professional
Experience in Social Services in a skilled nursing facility, long-term care, or healthcare setting.
Strong leadership and communication skills with a passion for advocacy in Social Work.
