ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Event Manager, Banquet Captain, and Lead Server. Banquet Servers work at special events and functions with a focus on fine dining skills. Banquet Servers are responsible for all aspects of the guests experience at the event, including greetings, serving drinks and dishes, proper wine service, and refilling beverages as needed. As a Banquet Server, you will have strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team.
Essential Duties:
- Ability to comfortably carry trays of glassware.
- Serving guests in a timely and professional manner, serving food and beverages.
- Following proper food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Be able to read a BEO
- Ability to stand for long periods of time or duration of shift.
- Ability to communicate with staff, management, and guests clearly and effectively.
- Must be able to transport up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift.
Specific Requirements of this role:
- Set up banquet equipment and/or food and beverages as required by event details.
- Clean and re-set room for events, including linens, silverware, dcor, etc.
- Serve food and beverages in order and to the expectation of the Banquet Captain to the assigned section.
- Retain and maintain complete knowledge of all food and beverage menu items.
- Promptly bus dishes as guests complete each course and/or meal at the end of the meal or function in accordance to banquet standards.
- Maintain and ensure the overall cleanliness and safety of work area/assigned station and the establishment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proven work experience, hotel level food serving preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Food handlers permit required.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
