ABOUT THE ROLE
A Bellperson/Hospitality Host welcomes our guests with a smile and a helping hand. Working closely with the Front Desk, Management, and other hotel departments, they are primarily responsible for welcoming all guests to our Boathouse activity area. The Bellperson assists with the distribution of guest amenities including kayaks, river floats, and safety equipment. But most importantly, interacts with guests to provide a wonderful hotel experience. A Bell person is responsible for ensuring their work area is presentable at all times.
Essential Duties:
- Be able to greet guests upon arrival and assist with activity equipment
- Be able to stay updated on information about the hotel and local area, including directions, transportation, and recommendations to restaurants/attractions.
- Be able to coordinate with hotel departments to ensure guests needs are met.
- Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 80 pounds.
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk, for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
- Must be able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
Specific requirements of the role:
- Greet all guests in the welcome areas of the boathouse or lobby in a warm and professional manner, make them feel welcome and anticipate their needs before they arise.
- Escort guests checking in to their accommodations, or provide guests activity equipment following hotel procedure.
- Ensure collection and delivery of guest luggage and equipment in an efficient and timely manner.
- Identify and explain guest room features to include use of such as air conditioning/heat units and thermostat controls, telephone, television, clock radio, guest services directory, mini bar, in room safe, lights, bathroom amenities, valet/laundry services, door lock.
- Identify and explain activity safety equipment and procedures to guests.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness of the storage areas and equipment daily.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Proven experience in customer service.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with guests
- Hotel Experienced preferred.
- Good physical condition and ability to lift and transport luggage.
- Flexibility in scheduling to work various shifts; weekends and holidays when needed.
