ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Hotel Rooms Department Supervisor to join the team! As a Rooms Department Supervisor at Dawn Ranch, you will be assisting the Rooms Division Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Front Desk and Housekeeping, including working shifts in each area. The Supervisor has excellent communication skills, with the ability to oversee a team of employees and report to management, as well as effectively communicate with guests. Bilingual Spanish/English skill is highly preferred.
Essential Duties:
- Able to fulfill all duties of a hotel front desk agent and housekeeping attendant.
- Able to follow instructions and procedures with the ability to take directions from superiors.
- Able to supervise staff, including assigning duties, providing training and coaching when needed.
- Handle guest reservations and complaints in a professional and efficient manner.
- Ensure that the front desk and housekeeping operate efficiently and effectively by monitoring guest check-in, check-out, and cleaning procedures.
- Ensure guest satisfaction by assisting the housekeeping department in any duties necessary.
- Able to communicate and collaborate with other departments within the hotel to ensure guest needs are met.
- Ensure that all guest facing, and work areas are clean, organized and well maintained.
- Able to effectively communicate and report details to management, while delegating tasks both effectively and respectfully.
- Able to lift to 40 pounds.
- Able to walk, kneel, reach, bend, feel, talk, see, hear, and lift. and stand for a significant degree,
Other duties/ Responsibilities
- Motivate, Train, and coach new staff.
- Resolve any guest billing discrepancies.
- Attend meetings to discuss guest needs and department operations.
- Basic math skills, with the ability to handle payment transactions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Making sure all guest inquiries, questions, and/or concerns are properly taken care of.
- Overseeing the scheduling of employees, making sure all shifts are filled as needed.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of guest information and room assignments.
- Perform any duties as assigned by the room manager.
Skills / Qualifications
- Over 2 Years of hotel experience or equivalent.
- 2 Years of managing or supervising experience preferred.
- Housekeeping experience preferred
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
- Basic computer literacy: Familiarity with standard computer functions and navigation
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft office and other relevant computer systems.
- Proficiency in Hotel PMS and related software.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
