Interior Designer
The Senior Designer supports the Principal Designer in the creation of a project's interiors scheme, involving the coordination of interior architecture, space planning, color / materials selection, furniture, lighting, case goods, etc. The Senior Designer contributes to the creative, technical, budgetary, project management, and design coordination accountability for all facets of the project. This is a full-time position, based out of our design studio, with work-from-home options available during the week.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Principal in the initial conceptual development of a project’s theme, design vocabulary, character and mood.
Interacts with clients, contractors, and architects in early job phases to assist in design direction.
Develops and manages project budgets, project schedules, and project updates to ensure deliverables are fulfilled on time and on budget.
Ensure that clients feel comfortable and confident in the team’s ability to manage their project;
Coordinate with the design team to conduct all aspects of the design process, including space and furniture plans, product selection and presentations, drawings, and materials schedules.
Coordinate with Designer, Project Manager, Purchasing Manager to ensure the accuracy of proposals and selections;
Work with outside general contractors, trades, vendors, product reps and fabricators, as required, to develop and implement design projects. Be able to communicate design ideas, quickly and effectively in the field to Contractors and Tradesmen;
Job site visits to communicate project requirements and design intent;
Conduct product research and determine project design options, including collecting spec sheets / materials literature and materials samples.
Prepare design presentations for both internal and external review.
Assist Principal on photo shoot days by developing a staging plan, procuring items and delivering to the site.
Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from a CIDA-accredited or NAAB-accredited program
5 - 7 years of experience in the residential or hospitality design industry
Knowledge of the design process
Proficient in Chief Architect, Photoshop, Google Workspace, or the like
Flexibility to focus on a single client with a variety of project types or multiple, concurrent projects in various stages of development
Self-motivated, hard-working, and reliable
Ability to work well in a team environment and initiative to be a proactive self-starter
Attention to detail and ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly
Strong leadership, organization, communication and relationship management skills
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets.

This position requires the ability to ascend / descend stairs and ladders. Occasionally lift and move supplies, samples, and staging items up to 25 pounds.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time non-exempt position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8 : 30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Must have a car. Travel is local during the business day and at a minimum.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from a CIDA-accredited or NAAB-accredited program.
5 - 7 years’ experience in Design and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
