Job Posting : Financial Accountant

Department : Accounting

Reports to : Operations Manager

Location : Remote

Classification : Exempt Employee

Accounting Department Goals :

Preferred experience with Sage Intacct (or similar software like QuickBooks)
Administer financial planning and forecasting processes
Provide financial, analytical, operational, and budget reporting to support business decisions
Support other departments in meeting their fiscal responsibilities

Job Summary :

The Financial Accountant performs key accounting functions, supporting the preparation and maintenance of financial records, department budgets, and reports. This role includes transaction processing, account reconciliation, budget development, and financial reporting.

Essential Functions :

Identify and resolve accounting issues with appropriate solutions

Understand key business drivers behind financial performance

Assist in identifying best practices and lessons learned from past experiences to enhance and streamline current financial analysis and reporting processes at DawnSignPress

Provide accounting guidance and / or training to staff as needed

Support the development of annual operating plans and periodic forecasts

Prepare journal entries for reclassifications, accruals, and inventory adjustments

Support the quarterly royalty process and help develop new systems / processes, which include sourcing of a new software to better manage royalties

Maintain documentation for accounting procedures and reporting

Monitor spending against forecasts, reporting variances to management

Prepare financial reports, including profit / loss statements and cash flow management reports

Analyze variances between actuals and budgeted plans every quarter

Summarize and analyze various ad hoc financial data for upper management

Ensure confidentiality of business, vendor, and employee information

Collaborate with other departments to support company goals

Supervisory Responsibilities :

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities

Qualifications :

Strong work ethic, organizational skills, and attention to detail

Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Preferred experience with Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, Excel, and MS Office

Basic understanding of inventory accounting processes

Strong interpersonal and vendor management skills

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Minimum of three years’ relevant accounting experience

Strong written and verbal communication skills

ASL proficiency is preferred but not required
