POSITION OVERVIEW
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to be a key part of a successful construction yard team with a strong safety culture. The Laborer performs tasks involving physical labor, operates a variety of hand and power tools, cleans and prepares sites, digs trenches, sets braces to support the sides of excavations, erects scaffolding, cleans up rubble and debris, and removes waste materials. May assist other yard and craft workers.

- Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in construction projects.
- Understands and adheres to safety and quality control requirements.
- Maintains a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.
- Works off of stilts, ladders, scaffolding and lifts; uses fall protection devices and harnesses, as required.
- Works at varying heights, often greater than 10’ above ground.
- Handles and stores material.
- Picks-up and delivers materials, as directed; loads and unloads trucks and hauls and hoist materials.
- Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Brings problems to the attention of the Foreman, Superintendent or Safety Manager.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Any combination of education & experience that demonstrates the knowledge & ability to perform the work.
- Some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in construction work.
- Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions.
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing, use equipment and tools properly and safely.
- Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
