CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT
Dawson Construction LLC, has an immediate opening for a Construction Project Management Assistant based in Bellingham, WA. Essential Functions
1. Field Support
- Provides field, technical and administrative support to the Project Manager and Project Superintendent.
- Builds relationships with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers; coordinates subcontractors and suppliers.
- Produces and tracks contracts with subcontractors, suppliers and consultants.
- Monitors safety regulations and participates in audits to ensure safety is an everyday topic and supersedes all other factors to prevent accidents and create a safe working environment for everyone.
2. Project Technical Support
- Supports bidding process, including conducting material take-offs and soliciting quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Collects and tracks RFI’s and submittals.
- Assists with building and updating project schedules.
- Maintains and distributes current project plans and specifications; Reviews shop drawings and submittals.
- Prepares and coordinates change orders.
3. Project Administrative Support
- Ensures communication is clear among all parties, including composing and preparing correspondence.
- Collects and processes purchase orders. Assists in the ordering of materials and supplies.
- Assists with permitting issues, as necessary.
- Schedules jobsite meetings and records/maintains minutes for meetings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Engineering, or similar preferred (U.S. accredited)
- Previous construction industry experience preferred in AK, PNW, or close
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills, both in-person and virtually
- In-depth knowledge of the construction industry
- Able to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines on multiple projects
- Organized and exhibit a high attention to detail
- Able to work collaboratively with multiple team members including clients, designers. partners, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Willingness and ability to learn industry-specific software
- Fluency in Spanish is a bonus
- Must be able to work for any employer in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future is required.
