What are the responsibilities and job description for the Probation Officer position at Dawson County Government?
The purpose of this job is to supervise persons serving misdemeanor probation sentences. Work includes but is not limited to monitoring all aspects of a probationer’s compliance with reporting, payment of fines and fees, completion of community service work, and completion of required courses, treatment programs and other conditions of probation. Prepare and present cases in court on revocation hearings and assist with administrative functions as needed.
Job Requirements:
Applicant must possess an Associate degree in Criminal Justice, or minimum of two years of Criminal Justice or Political Science at a four-year college; Or four years of certified law enforcement, investigation, or probation supervision experience. Applicant must possess a valid Georgia driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), and must pass a background check and drug screening as required by Dawson County Government.
