QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of three years experience in school nutrition or similar experience. Complete GA Department of Education SCNP core requirements for Food Safety, Nutrition and Menu Management, and Food Production.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Determine purchasing needs based on the cycle menus.
- Receive and be accountable for USDA commodities and purchased foods and supplies.
- Direct, train, and supervise school nutrition employees.
- Ensure meals and servings are adequate and appealing.
- Keep all records and reports accurately and up-to-date in accordance with system, community, state, and federal regulations.
- Operate the school nutrition program in a financially sound manner.
- Supervise and inspect the general cleaning of the kitchen facilities.
- Supervise dishwashing and proper storage of all trays and cooking utensils.
- Implement state/local health codes as they relate to food service.
- Develop and monitor safety policies and procedures for all employees.
- Strive to improve the school nutrition program.
- Plan equipment needs and repairs with the Director of School Nutrition.
- Attend all managers meetings and in-service training programs.
- Maintain a positive attitude with employees, students, and school staff.
- Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/or credential as may be required for this position.
- Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable, and punctual manner.
- Participate in training to increase the skills and proficiency related to the assignment.
- Implement and adhere to appropriate safety procedures and crisis emergency plans to create and sustain a secure and healthy learning environment consistent with district and school rules, policies, and procedures.
- Carry out duties in accordance with federal and state laws, Code of Ethics for Educators in Georgia, and established state and local policies, regulations, and practices.
- Perform, professionally and efficiently, all other duties as assigned.
