The Arkansas Division of Elementary and Secondary Education - Office of Special Education isaccepting applications for Regional Educational Support Specialists to support specialeducation services across Arkansas. These positions play a vital role in providing consultation,technical assistance, and leadership to schools and districts, ensuring alignment with IDEA(Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and Arkansas regulations.The Educational Support Specialists will work to close achievement gaps for students withdisabilities, particularly those with significant or complex needs. Ideal candidates will haveexperience working with low-incidence populations, such as students with multiple disabilities,autism, and significant cognitive disabilities.Position: Multiple Regional Educational Support Specialist positions availableLocation: Regionally-basedTravel: Moderate regional travel required; limited state-wide travel requiredTravel Expenses: Reimbursed within specified guidelinesPosting Deadline: Open until all positions filledKey Responsibilities: Provide technical assistance and consultation to schools, districts, and EducationService Cooperatives. Ensure compliance with IDEA and Arkansas special education regulations.
Develop and lead professional learning opportunities to enhance educational outcomesfor students with disabilities. Collaborate with Special Education and Related Service Regional Specialists and othertechnical assistance providers to coordinate services and build capacity across the state. Stay current on research and effective practices in special education. Address needs identified in CIRCUIT by providing technical assistance, consultation,and coaching following IDEA, AR Regulations, DESE-OSE initiatives and utilizingevidence-based and High Leverage Practices.
Maintain documentation for supporting needs in CIRCUIT and other consulting tasks. Collaborate with DESE-OSE and Arkansas Collaborative Consultants as directed byDESE-OSE. Project manage capacity building activities in priority areas. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree in education or related field plus 5 years of education experience.
3 years of supervisory or coaching experience. Valid Arkansas Educator License. Strong organizational, analytical, and presentation skills. Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in technology and computer skills. Knowledge of IDEA and Arkansas Special Education and Related Services regulations. Ability to work independently and maintain focus on the states vision and mission. Experience in developing and delivering professional learning opportunities.Additional Requirements: Valid Arkansas drivers license.
