The Company is headquartered in Danville, Illinois with approximately 125 employees, with multiple operating facilities in 3 states the US.
Position Summary
The Shipping Clerk provides support by responding to inquiries, processing documentation of freight delivery or shipment and interacting with customer and other service providers in a prompt, courteous and effective manner. This position works closely with the warehouse team and assists with other general office duties as needed.
Position Type: Full-Time
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm *schedule may vary based on client needs
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Performs general administrative duties including correspondence, filing, copying, data entry, and creating reports in Excel.
Assists in documenting goods received by scanning bar codes and forwarding the information to inventory control specialists to provide proof of delivery.
Expedites both full and less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments for local and long distance including, Canada, and Mexico.
Enters inventory data into WMS system and specialized database program to provide accurate records of inventory.
Assists by creating shipments, scanning and printing bills of lading for outbound truck drivers.
Maintains filing process and systems.
Consistently in contact with customer.
Creates and runs ad hoc reports for Operations.
Other duties as assigned.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent, college experience a plus
Experience/Knowledge
1 year of previous work experience in a related position
Advanced level of knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Intermediate level of knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
Intermediate level of knowledge of database management
General knowledge of ISO Quality and Environmental Requirements
Skills/Abilities
Excellent skills in multitasking, prioritizing, processing information quickly and organization
Excellent skills at problem solving and handling confidential information
Good data entry skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Able to manage time effectively with multiple priorities and work independently
