Summer Camp Lifeguard (Returning)

Looking for a rewarding way to spend the summer or even part of it? Dawson Summer Camps is currently seeking experienced Lifeguards who will work with campers ages 5-15, under the supervision of an Aquatics Director and the Director of Summer Camps. Personal and Professional Qualifications:

• Must be 16 years of age by the start of camp to be eligible to apply.

• Must have a current Lifeguard Certification by a recognized source of training
• Must be CPR Certified
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Skill in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical skills evaluation as stipulated by the department.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
• Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
• Knowledge of emergency medical procedures.
• Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.

• Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.

Job Duties:

• Maintains constant surveillance of anyone in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of an emergency.

• Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
• Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times and maintains a high standard of customer service.
• Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
• Prepares and maintains appropriate activity reports.

• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Expectations:

• Summer Camp Dates: June 2 - July 25, 2025
• Commitment: the ability to work a minimum of 2 weeks (not necessarily consecutive)
• All lifeguards should be clocked in and ready at 9:15 a.m., Monday at 8:45 a.m. Each day ends at 4:00 p.m.
• Must attend the mandatory staff meeting on May 30, 2025.
• Must complete all summer camp student safety requirements and child protection licensing requirements, including Introduction to CPR and First Aid.
