Clinical Coordinator (RN) Job Summary:
As the Inpatient Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for demonstrating behaviors consistent with the Psychiatric Inpatient Unit mission to provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, evaluation and treatment. The interdisciplinary team collaborates in the provision of individualized quality care that is directed toward crisis intervention and stabilization. Demonstrates knowledge and application.
Clinical Coordinator (RN) Job Responsibilities:
- Ensures quality care delivery by using the nursing process.
- Maintains awareness of patients’ needs and communicates changes to others.
- Incorporates critical thinking and establishes priorities in decisions about patient care and staffing.
- Delegates responsibilities fairly according to each person’s capabilities ensuring completion of all work.
- Acts as a patient and staff advocate.
- In conjunction with Director/Designee, completes performance evaluations, follows up on staff achievements, and counsels and educates as required.
- Practices cost control.
- Keeps Director/Designee up to date on all pertinent matters.
- Adjusts assignments and priorities in response to changing or increased workload.
- Supports nursing policies and acts as change agent when new procedures and policies need implementation.
Clinical Coordinator (RN) Education and Experience Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Connecticut required.
- Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification or equivalent within 3 months of hire required.
- Current NVCIT (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training) certification or within 3 months of hire required.
- Therapeutic group facilitation skills required.
- Individual interviewing and coaching skills required.
- Understanding of milieu therapy management.
- Psychiatric behavioral crisis intervention skills required.
- Must have ability to navigate various computer software programs.
