Day Kimball Health is hiring for an Occupational Therapist to join our Outpatient Clinic in Putnam, CT. This is a day-shift position (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM), offering 32 to 40 hours per week.

- Evaluates and treats patients as prescribed by referring physician.
- Records treatment, response, progress and discharge information in patient's chart or enters information into computer.
- Educates patient, family and significant others regarding condition, treatment and home program.
- Routinely confers with physician and other practitioners in person, by phone, or in writing, regarding progress, regression or change of plan.
- Orients, instructs, and directs assistants, aides and students.
- Maintains professional growth by attendance of department meetings, inservice and educational conferences. Includes participation in hospital orientation and departmental and community education and programs as directed.
- Assists with the planning and implementation of new programs.
- BS or MS degree from an accredited program in Occupational Therapy required.
- Licensure by the state of Connecticut required.
- Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification or equivalent within 3 months of hire required.
- Minimum of one year experience preferred.
- Uses common sense and special medical skills to care for the sick or handicapped.
- Understands technical information from supervisors, charts, reference books, manuals, and labels.
- Uses eyes, hands, and fingers with skill.
- Works fast and accurately in emergency situations.
- Communicates well with people when they are sick, handicapped or nervous.
