Day Kimball Health is hiring for a Public Safety Associate to join our Public Safety department in Putnam, CT! This position is per diem (as needed), with a minimum hours requirement of at least two 8-hour shifts per month. Public Safety Associate Benefits Summary

Public Safety Associate Job Responsibilities:
- Prior to assuming your post, check in at the Public Safety Office to check to see if there are any special post instructions or other important information that may be required for your post assignment.
- Greet patients and visitors entering the building, providing directions and assistance (wheelchair, etc.) as needed to include persons requiring assistance to/from their vehicles.
- Controls the flow of other persons entering the hospital/property/building for business matters. (Vendors, Deliveries, etc.)
- Issue visitor passes (if applicable)
- Challenge any other persons whose business or reason(s) for being on property are unknown as to deter/prevent loitering or any other suspicious behaviors and actions.
- Respond to any calls for assistance within the general area of your post and determine if additional help is needed.
- Immediately contact the Public Safety Manager (X3236) or the on duty Public Safety Officer to report and document any calls for assistance. (As noted above)
- Upon securing your post, check out at the Public Safety Office to advise the Officers(s) of any issues regarding your post. (Failed equipment, etc.)
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Non Violent Crisis Intervention Training

- Health stream online education – ongoing
- Previous or relevant customer service experience is preferred.
- Must be proficient in Reasoning, Reading, Writing, Speaking clearly and distinctly with appropriate pauses and emphasis, correct pronunciation, variations in word order, using present, perfect and future tenses. Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
- Must possess the ability to effectively communicate with the public in a courteous, efficient and empathetic manner.
- Ability to plan, organize and direct flow of communications and tasks within job description and responsibility.
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under stressful conditions.
- Ability to work effectively with other members of the team.
- Data – Ability to monitor computer to identify the location of patients within the Hospital. Also must have the ability to use a Security radio and telephone to communicate with other staff members.
- People ‑ Speaking ‑ Signaling: Must be able to clearly communicate or signal people to convey or exchange information. Serving: Attending to the needs, requests or the expressed or implicit wishes of people. Immediate response is involved.
- Things – Observing the movements and actions of people entering into the Hospital and monitoring said behaviors as they wait in the waiting room.
