Job Summary
The UR / PCT person performs the clerical duties and facilitates the smooth functioning of the patient care unit. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, assists the staff nurse with specific patient activities.
UR / PCT Essential Responsibilities :
- Unit Receptionist completes all necessary forms, requisitions, communications and special projects as assigned. Accurately transcribes physicians' orders (when applicable).
- Acts as a central communication resource at the nursing station for all patient care activities. Maintains good customer service and patient confidentiality.
- Accurately inputs and retrieves data.
- Initiates, maintains, replaces or completes various clerical forms, reports, supplies, etc.
- Patient Care Technician
- Assists patients and nurses as necessary with ADL, Vital Signs, and patient Plan of Care.
- Assists patients and nurses with lifting and positioning, using proper body mechanics.
- Functions in role of Constant Attendant and responds to Resusci-team page and Crisis Team page when directed by Nurse Director / designee.
- Transports (or assists with transport) of patients to other units or departments as necessary.
- Reports any changes observed in condition or behavior of patients.
