CAD Drafter

We’re looking for a talented CAD Drafter with expertise in Revit and Bill of Materials (BOM) to join our dynamic team.

Job Summary:

As a CAD Drafter (Revit & BOM), you will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and models of lighting systems, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of design projects. You will collaborate closely with the engineering, design, and project management teams to produce high-quality drawings, coordinate documentation, and assist in the preparation of BOMs for project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Revit Modeling:
• Develop and maintain detailed 2D and 3D models using Revit software.
• Create detailed architectural, electrical, and lighting designs that meet project specifications and standards.
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to modify and update Revit models based on project requirements.
• Ensure Revit models are accurate, clean, and compliant with company standards.
• CAD Drafting:
• Produce detailed CAD drawings and schematics for lighting projects, including installation details, electrical plans, and fixture layouts.
• Prepare drawings that comply with industry standards and client-specific requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to interpret design concepts and convert them into technical drawings.
• Bill of Materials (BOM) Preparation:
• Create and maintain comprehensive BOMs based on design specifications and project plans.
• Collaborate with procurement, production, and project management teams to ensure the BOM reflects accurate quantities, part numbers, and materials.
• Update and revise BOMs as project details change, ensuring all materials are accounted for.
• Support the procurement team with accurate material take-offs and specifications.
• Coordination and Documentation:
• Ensure coordination between Revit models and CAD drawings to maintain consistency.
• Assist in the creation of documentation packages for submittals, permits, and installations.
• Work closely with the project management team to ensure all design deliverables are met on time.
• Assist in maintaining project documentation and drawings in a well-organized manner for easy reference.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• 2 years of experience in CAD drafting and Revit modeling, preferably in the lighting or electrical industry.
• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and other drafting/modeling software.
• Strong understanding of lighting design principles, electrical layouts, and construction documents.
• Familiarity with creating and managing Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to produce high-quality drawings within deadlines.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to lighting and electrical systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the lighting industry or similar architectural design fields.
• Familiarity with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems.
• Understanding of photometric and lighting simulation software.
