Saw Operator

Day-O-Lite is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Miter Saw Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating miter saws to cut materials to precise measurements and specifications. Responsibilities:

• Operate miter saws to cut various materials, including wood, metal, and plastics, to specified lengths and angles based on blueprints and job orders.
• Measure and mark materials accurately to ensure precision cutting.
• Inspect materials before and after cutting to ensure quality and compliance with project specifications.
• Maintain and perform routine maintenance on the miter saw to ensure its proper functioning.
• Follow safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment.
• Keep the work area clean and organized, disposing of scrap materials properly.
• Communicate with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules and quality standards.
• Assist with other production tasks as needed.

Requirements:

• Previous experience operating a miter saw or similar cutting equipment in a manufacturing or construction environment.
• Ability to read and production drawings, job orders, and measuring tools such as tape measures, squares, and protractors.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cutting materials.
• Knowledge of proper safety procedures when handling cutting equipment and materials.
• Physical ability to lift and handle materials and stand for extended periods.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.20 - $21.67 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
