Mental Health Clinician

We offer a wide range of counseling services, including individual counseling, couples counseling, family therapy, and more. Our services are tailored to meet the unique needs of each of our consumers. We take a holistic approach to counseling, focusing on the mind, body, and spirit. Our counselors are trained in a variety of evidence-based techniques and therapies to help our consumers achieve optimal mental health.

The Clinician is responsible for providing primary mental health care for their consumers. Therapists administer and interpret mental health assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, lead both individual sessions and group therapy, and provide appropriate resources and referrals. Therapists will participate in clinical supervision on a weekly basis and take part in case consultation.

Responsibilities Include:

• Work with individuals, groups and communities to improve mental wellness challenges
• Encourage consumers to discuss experiences in relation to their mental wellness challenges
• Help consumers define goals, create action plans and gain insight
• Develop therapeutic process individualized for each consumer
• Complete clinical documentation within 24 hours of providing services
• Collaborate with other community agencies to best help underserved, marginalized and oppressed populations
• Consult with colleagues, supervisor, and mental health professional on cases when necessary and appropriate

Position Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Counseling or related field
• 2-5 years’ clinical experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of the techniques and principles of child and family development, family systems theory, crisis therapy intervention, individual, family, and group therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and trauma focused interventions.
• Valid driver’s license; insurance and successful completion of a driver’s background check for work related travel.
• Knowledge of community resources.
• Commitment to quality care in strength-based, trauma-informed, recovery-focused programming
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with consumers in a professional, empathetic, and confidential manner.
• Proficient computer skills, specifically in current versions of Microsoft Office Suite; and willingness to learn new skills as needed or required.
• Ability to pay attention to detail and a commitment to quality and the timely completion of duties and attainment of deadlines.
• Independent workers with the ability to create and maintain one’s own work schedule to meet consumer needs.
• Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team.
• Self-awareness of individual biases, experiences and limitations.
