Design Civil Engineer needed for an opportunity with SOC's client to work in Indian Head, Maryland.
US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance is required!
Responsibilities
Primarily requires development of requirements and technical review of design packages as well as occasional design work
Prepare design packages (including civil engineering calculations, design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates) for renovation projects such as roof replacements, building reconfigurations, additions, or adjustments due to a change in facility use or utilities such as HVAC upgrades or electrical modifications
Conduct technical reviews of design packages created by others to assess compliance with applicable building codes, and regulations as well as end-user requirements
Provide technical input to proposal development for renovation projects
Support design process from concept through delivery of completed design package
Prepare technical memoranda / reports that summarize information, such as requirements or the basis of design
Collaborate and communicate effectively with other stakeholders internal to, and external to, the design team (e.g., engineering department, manufacturing department)
Serve as a project manager and / or design manager on some assigned projects
Prepare fact sheets, structural analysis, investigative and observation reporting for facilities and facility components where areas of concern or identified
Support modernization of facilities in compliance with local, state, and federal codes Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Minimum of 8 years experience required, 10 years is preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred, but not required
Proficient at completing facility design services and supporting the review of designs for compliance with code and energetic manufacturing processes to help our client realize state-of-the-art facilities through construction and commissioning
Experience reviewing facility designs for compliance with processes and permitting those designs through construction
Experience evaluating operational systems and facility infrastructure to ascertain and improve operational efficiencies
Experience designing and maintaining the physical infrastructure of a lab environment
Knowledge of civil and environmental compliance within an energetic manufacturing environment, including completing facility design services
Knowledge of the International Building Code (IBC), Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), NFPA, ANSI, ASCE, and civil and environmental systems industry standards
Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance; Must be a U.S. citizen as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations In compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $110,000 to $150,000 annually. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
