Position Description
We’re looking for a Strategic Supply Chain Specialist to join our Day & Zimmermann team on an advanced class construction project in the Midwest;
Sourcing specialist responsible for strategically sourcing, negotiating & procuring goods/services and cradle-to-grave subcontract administration to support MC scopes of work. Leads and manages the innitiaves to drive the entire sourcing lifecycle including but not limited to BEA (Bid, Evaluate & Award), planning, requests for quotation, bid evaluations, supplier selection, quality, compliance and other related sourcing activities for EPC/Cm and M&M scopes. Establishes and manages supplier and subcontractor relationships.

Establishes and manages supplier and subcontractor relationships.
As the Strategic Supply Chain Specialist, here’s the work you’ll do:
- Manages full Sourcing lifecycle from preparation of the Recommended Bidder's List (RBL), issues RFQs (Request for Quote), receives and evaluates bids, prepares Competitive Bid Evaluation (CBE), conducts supplier negotiations, issues POs, administrates change orders and PO/Subcontract closeout; Ensures Material Status Reports (MSR) and Project Status Reports are updated in a timely manner including current status of RFQ's, PO's, supplier data, committed delivery dates and receipt of equipment/material and subcontract deliverables; Serves as the Supply Chain lead for Project meetings including Kick Off's, Project Status and Level Reviews as required.
- Collaborates and performs as a strategic partner to the business group to ensure qualified suppliers are selected for RFP & RFQ processes; Develops and leads the sourcing strategy & Procurement/Subcontract Plans in conjunction with the business group to support project schedules; Facilitates and attends supplier meetings and client facilities as required; Assists Supply Chain leadership in preparation of labor estimates, attends supplier meetings and visits client facilities as requested.
- Engages in timely communication with Operations, Project Management, Estimating, et al, to ensure all appropriate stakeholders are informed of potential concerns with scheduled deadlines/deliverables and leads the efforts to mitigate potential impacts; Communicates efficiently and effectively with Business Group and Supply Chain leadership.
- Leads supplier relationship management, successfully driving supplier development, engagement, and communication on behalf of the business group; Identifies and develops relationships with diverse suppliers who align with business group strategies; Excels in problem resolution efforts, conflict management and project management.
- Drives competitiveness through pricing negotiations. Creates and leads mitigation plans for identified areas of risk. Implements cost saving measures, while also enhancing operating efficiencies. Drives contract terms and conditions management.
- Ability to prioritize workload to support internal/external customer requirements, effectively manage competing priorities, utilizes resources to accomplish tasks efficiently and to support project schedules in a matrixed organization.
- Strong sourcing, negotiating, organizational, verbal & written communication skills to include change and conflict management, leadership and program management skills.
- Proficient with organizational, analytical and decision-making skills to include change and conflict management and program management skills.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and SAP/ERP systems.
- Experience in Engineering and Construction industry and knowledge of Supply Chain trends for various EPC/Cm / M&M industries.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field
- 3 - 5 years
- CPSM preferred
