Daya empowers South Asian survivors of domestic and sexual violence with culturally specific services and educates the community to end the cycle of abuse.
Core Job Description: Daya is seeking an experienced Human Resource/Administrative Manager to be responsible for all human resources and administrative functions. The HR/Admin Manager leads compensation and benefits administration, recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention of employees; agency policy creation and revision, and ensuring a safe and productive workplace environment.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
HR POLICY IMPLEMENTATION & COMPLIANCE
- Developing, revising, communicating, and enforcing agency HR policies and procedures
- Ensuring compliance of policies with state and federal employment laws/regulations
- Generating HR metrics and reports to inform strategic decision-making
RECRUITMENT, EMPLOYMENT, & RETENTION:
- Collaborate with leadership team to identify staffing needs, develop job descriptions, and create effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent. Post job openings, conduct interviews, screen candidates, and manage the hiring process.
- Facilitate onboarding and training of new employees. Identify and facilitate ongoing employee training and development needs.
- Administrate all employee benefits programs, including health insurance and retirement plans as well as agency insurance. Process unemployment claims, worker’s compensation, and personnel action forms. Manage external vendor communications and negotiations. Handle annual enrollments, pricing, and comparison shopping.
- Process payroll - review and maintain employee timesheets. Oversee calculation and distribution of employee paychecks. Maintain time off bank.
- Facilitate and oversee wellness initiatives, team building activities, employee appreciation, and staff events

RECORDS MANAGEMENT/OFFICE ADMINISTRATION:
- Maintain accurate employee data and files, including personal information and employment contracts, with confidentiality and discretion
- Oversight of administrative staff to ensure requests for maintenance of facilities, supplies, work orders, and day-to-day operations are addressed
MISSION AND VISION PROMOTION:
- Promote an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration to accomplish Daya initiatives
- Build and maintain a network of professional resources for the role
- Attend and contribute to staff meetings and other internal meetings
- Participate in appropriate professional development trainings and forums
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources management, business administration or equivalent required. Preference given to Master’s degree and PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP certification
- Minimum of 3 years experience in HR Management/Employee Relations/Leadership required
- Demonstrated experience and in-depth knowledge of FMLA, FLSA, ADA, employment laws, state and federal laws and regulations, and principles and practices of HR.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing effective HR policies and programs that align with the agency’s goals and values.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office. Excellent writing and reporting skills. Demonstrated ability to skillfully communicate with all levels of employees including leadership.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills including active listening, coaching and training. Well-organized, highly motivated, and detail oriented.

COMPENSATION:
- Salary – $65,000.00 annually based on experience
