Daya empowers South Asian survivors of domestic and sexual violence with culturally specific services and educates the community to end the cycle of abuse.
Core Job Description: Daya is seeking an experienced Outreach Manager to lead strategies that expand its reach in the greater Houston area. The role will raise awareness of domestic and sexual violence dynamics in the larger, as well as South Asian, communities. The Outreach Manager will develop outreach, training, and prevention programs with the aim to increase engagement with clients, volunteers, community stakeholders, and funders and promote cultural competency and healthy relationships. As a key spokesperson, the Outreach Manager will share Daya’s mission and foster community engagement through education and awareness.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
COMMUNITY OUTREACH/EVENTS:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic community outreach program to increase awareness and drive engagement with a variety of key audiences
- Establish and maintain an annual calendar of outreach events (agency and community hosted) and assign staffing for events. Develop, supervise, and manage all aspects of Daya hosted events including theme, content, audience, speakers, publicity/outreach, and evaluation metrics.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders—such as religious institutions, cultural groups, South Asian organizations, and community partners—to increase referrals, raise awareness of the cycle of violence, and foster collaboration. Serve as a spokesperson for Daya, effectively communicating its mission and services to diverse audiences.
- Identify potential funders during all outreach events and connect them with Daya’s Development Director
EDUCATION & PREVENTION:
- Identify innovative ways to reach various subsects of the local and South Asian community and provide them with information on domestic and sexual violence and services available at Daya
- Develop and implement a comprehensive prevention program aimed at promoting awareness and reducing incidences of domestic and sexual violence in the community.
- Create all education and prevention program materials with a culturally specific lens and keep them updated per current trend and best practices.
- Work with stakeholders to identify needs and opportunities for training in the community and serve as a coordinator/speaker/panelist for the organized sessions.

COMMUNICATION/MARKETING:
- Lead marketing efforts for outreach, training, and prevention events and programs
- Provide strategic direction to enhance Daya’s visibility through coordinated branding, marketing, and outreach across media and communication platforms. Lead the creation of Daya-branded materials.
- Develop and disseminate tailored training tools such as culturally specific presentations, tool kits, brochures, and outreach materials to reach a variety of diverse communities
- Increase the South Asian community’s knowledge about Daya’s mission, services, initiatives, and emerging issues through timely and relevant messaging.
- Manage and set content for all social media communication, blogs, press releases, press conferences, events, presentations, and newsletters. Develop and share engaging social media campaigns. Assist with mass email communications.
- Manage and oversee regular updates to Daya’s website
- Assist the Development Director in the creation of all development, fundraising, and marketing materials
VOLUNTEER ENGAGEMENT:
- Manage the volunteer program by leveraging skills and talents, overseeing volunteer database, and setting strategies to engage volunteers in community outreach, donation drives, client support, administrative tasks, and professional services. Lead volunteer appreciation efforts to recognize contributions.
- Provide training to volunteers, staff, or board, that are engaged in outreach and/or training and prevention
ADMINISTRATIVE/REPORTING:
- Conduct research on emerging trends and best practices in the fields of domestic and sexual violence
- Manage program related budgets
- Record volunteer engagement and community outreach, education, and prevention activities in Daya’s database. Oversee and maintain the database.
- Monitor outcomes/program impact related to outreach, advocacy, and education initiatives through surveys and data collection. Create and disseminate outreach reports to staff/board/funders.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's in communication, marketing, public relations, or equivalent. Preference given to Master’s.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Outreach and Nonprofit Management/Leadership required. Experience in the development of training, awareness, and educational materials required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Skilled in public speaking and training diverse audiences. Exceptional interpersonal skills including networking, relationship building, active listening, coaching, and training.
- Speaking proficiency in either Hindi or Urdu required. Deep awareness of South Asian culture and community required. Established relationships with local community providers preferred.
- Well-organized, highly motivated, and detail oriented. Expert proficiency in Microsoft Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

COMPENSATION:
- Salary – $60,000.00 annually based on experience
