THE OPPORTUNITY
The Designer is responsible for designing compelling game content and experiences, and working with the Lord of the Rings Online team in the Design discipline at Standing Stone Games reporting to the Executive Producer, this position will be responsible for:
- Design and implement high quality, compelling content for a massively multiplayer game
- Work on design through all development phases, from concept to live operations
- Once live, collaborate to design responses to performance indicators and customer feedback
- Develop new group, solo, quest, and event content for all levels of LOTRO
- Work on design through all development phases, from concept to live operations
- Collaborate closely with an internal team of world builders, artists, and designers
- Implement new content effectively and efficiently
- Help support keeping the project schedule on-time
- Learn proprietary tools quickly and work within a complex asset development pipeline
What craft expertise you'll have:
- Tools/Technology
- Required:
- Strong general computer skills (very comfortable in Microsoft Office, JIRA, etc.)
- Experience with version control software, such as Perforce
- Experience with 3D game tools, such as Unity, Unreal, or Maya
- Desired: Knowledge of scripting and programming languages such as Python, Perl, C# or similar languages

- A mature, professional attitude and work ethic; you need to be able to champion your ideas, yet accept and value the ideas of others
- Experience playing MMOs
- Strong familiarity with game design principles, specifically MMOs and group content

- Experience with The Lord of the Rings Online
- Familiarity with the works of J.R.R. Tolkien
