Position Summary:
As the Marine Forklift Operator, you are responsible for safely operating a forklift to move and position boats within the storage facility. The applicant must have a decent understanding of boat handling and storage techniques to ensure the boats are not damaged during transport. Additionally, they are tasked with inspecting the forklift for maintenance and ensuring it operates efficiently. Communication skills are essential as they will often coordinate with other marina staff and boat owners to execute boat movements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all operations are conducted safely and in compliance with company and industry safety standards.
- Load and unload boats from trailers, docks, and storage racks.
- Secure boats properly during transport to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate records of boats and marine equipment stored in the facility.
- Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.
- Coordinate with other staff members, including boat owners and facility managers, to ensure efficient and timely operations.
- Follow instructions and communicate effectively with team members to complete launching safely and efficiently.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the storage area and forklift.
- Complete and maintain required documentation, such as logbooks and inspection records, accurately and timely.
- Secure boats properly during transport to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate records of boats and marine equipment stored in the facility.
- Respond to emergencies or incidents, such as accidents or spills, following established procedures and protocols.
Qualifications & Expectations:
- Previous experience in forklift operation preferred but not required
- Understanding of basic boating
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy while operating the forklift
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively to build relationships with customers and internal team members
- Problem-solving skills and ability to resolve issues independently

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
