Position Overview: As a Housekeeping team member at Days Inn and Suites, you will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and ensuring a pleasant and comfortable environment for our guests. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional housekeeping services, including cleaning and sanitizing guest rooms, public areas, and ensuring overall cleanliness of the hotel. Your attention to detail, efficiency, and dedication to cleanliness will contribute to the positive experience of our guests.
Responsibilities:
Room Cleaning and Preparation: Clean and maintain guest rooms, ensuring they are tidy, fresh, and inviting. This includes making beds, changing linens, dusting, vacuuming, and replenishing amenities according to hotel standards.
Public Area Maintenance: Clean and maintain public areas of the hotel, such as lobbies, hallways, elevators, and restrooms. This includes dusting, sweeping, mopping, and ensuring these areas are neat, well-organized, and free from clutter.
Laundry Management: Collect and process soiled linens, towels, and other laundry items, ensuring proper sorting, washing, drying, and folding. Maintain an adequate supply of clean and neatly folded linens for guest use.
Inventory Management: Report any damaged or missing items in guest rooms or public areas promptly to the supervisor. Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and request replenishment as needed to ensure a sufficient stock is available.
Sanitization and Safety: Adhere to health and safety guidelines, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and maintaining cleanliness standards to prevent the spread of germs and ensure a safe environment for guests and fellow team members.
Guest Requests: Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests for additional supplies, amenities, or special cleaning needs. Maintain a courteous and helpful attitude when interacting with guests to ensure their satisfaction.
Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the housekeeping team and other hotel departments to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction. Coordinate with front desk staff to prioritize room cleaning based on guest needs and arrival/departure schedules.
Reporting and Documentation: Complete required documentation and reports accurately, such as room status reports and maintenance requests. Report any maintenance issues or repairs needed in guest rooms or public areas promptly to the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in housekeeping, janitorial services, or a similar role is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain cleanliness standards consistently.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, use of cleaning equipment, and handling cleaning chemicals safely.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently while following established cleaning procedures and schedules.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with guests and team members in a courteous and professional manner.
- Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends and holidays.
